Caring for your new baby
Congratulations on the birth of your baby! We hope that your baby will stay healthy. If, however, your baby requires hospitalization, we want you to know that Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is home to the Lund Famliy Pediatric and Adolescent Unit.
The 22-bed unit procvides health care services to children ages 17 and younger in the East Valley. The nursing staff will coordinate with your pediatrician to treat and care for your child who is too sick to be cared for at home.
The Lund Family Pediatric and Adolescent Unit has successfully created an environment where kids can be kids, even when they are in the hospital. We also recognize that parents know their child's emotional needs, habits and patterns. For this reason, we encourage parents to assit our team every step of the way in providing efficient, high quality, radical loving care for each child. To accomplish this, the unit includes family support elements such as space and accomodations so parents can stay overnight with their child, and offers areas for hygiene, personal belongings and access to phones.
